Modi’s beard and GDP grow, down: Tharoor with picture | Shashi Tharoor GDP Modiac

New Delhi: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has compared the slump in the country’s GDP to that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Tharoor also criticized India’s declining GDP for growing a beard. Tharoor shared Modi’s image.

In the 2017-18 financial year, India’s economic growth was 8.1 per cent when the beard was down. The next year the beard grew a little longer. GDP fell to less than six per cent in various quarters. In the second quarter of the 2019-20 financial year, it fell to 4.5 percent. By then, it was clear from the picture that Modi’s beard had grown longer. The tweet contains five pictures of Modi from 2017 onwards.

At the same time, the country’s GDP grew by 0.4 per cent in the last quarter of the financial year ending in December. Economic growth has rebounded after two consecutive quarters of decline.
