Riyadh: The 1350-year-old al-Safa Mosque in Albaha, Saudi Arabia, is being renovated. It is the oldest church in the region. The redevelopment is part of the second phase of development of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman project.
The church will be built in a unique style using stones and timber from the Sharavat mountain and will have advanced facilities. 31 people can pray in the mosque with an area of 78 square meters.
In the second phase of the development project, 30 ancient mosques in 13 regions of Saudi Arabia are being reconstructed. In the first phase, 30 mosques in 10 regions were renovated.
