With the launch of the Baden-Württemberg winegrowing portal, the state is continuing the digitization of its agricultural administration. The processes are becoming more modern, closer to the citizen and more up-to-date.
“With the start of the Viticulture portal Baden-Württemberg we take another milestone in the digitization process of the country’s agricultural administration. In the future, wine producers will be able to carry out numerous administrative services online, such as reports on wine stocks, wine harvesting and wine production. In this way, we facilitate access and modernize communication and interaction between the wine industry and administration. The processes will thus become more modern, closer to the citizen and more up-to-date,” said the Minister for Food, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection (MLR), Peter Hauk, on October 31, 2023.
The content of the BW winegrowing portal was developed by the state authorities Freiburg State Viticulture Institute and Weinsberg State Teaching and Research Institute designed and technically through the State Office for Geoinformation and Regional Development implemented.
Official quality wine testing online
With the launch of the BW winegrowing portal, the official quality wine testing also goes online. Applications for the allocation of an official test number for quality wine, sparkling wine, quality sparkling wine or quality liqueur wine have also been possible online since October 2023.
Applying online simplifies the processes for wine producers and administration, as application information is checked during the input process and input errors during data transfer are avoided in the future. Tutorials on the websites of the Weinsberg and Freiburg state institutes help users to quickly find their way around the new BW winegrowing portal.
