“A Scandinavian study involving Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark showed that men under the age of 30 who received Moderna Spikevax had a slightly higher risk of developing myocarditis than others,” said Mika Salminen, a spokesman for the Finnish Institute of Health.
According to him, inflammation of the heart muscle usually goes away on its own within a few days. He added that Finland will be administering the Pfizer vaccine to young people under 30 as a precautionary measure.
At the same time, it is emphasized that myocarditis from the Moderna vaccine, as a rule, proceeds in mild forms. Its risk increases significantly for those infected with COVID-19.
