BANDUNG – Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana said that currently the Moderna vaccine has begun to be given to the general public in the city of Bandung. Previously, the administration of moderna vaccines in the city of Bandung had been given to 21,712 health workers (nakes).
“For health workers, (the number of people vaccinated) is already high. Currently, Moderna is in hospitals, RSKIA, Al-Islam Hospital and RSHS. On average, each of them gets a thousand,” he said after reviewing vaccinations at the Ujungberung Hospital, Sunday (3/10).
According to him, Moderna vaccination is very appropriate to be carried out in hospitals. Because it requires a more detailed and precise explanation.
“This modern post-immunity event is different. If Sinovac or Sinopham viruses are killed there is likely to be no effect after the vaccine. But if it’s Moderna, it’s a weakened virus so it reacts faster. That must be carefully explained,” he said.
Acceleration of vaccination in the city of Bandung is supported by collaboration with all elements of society. So, said Yana, the achievement of vaccination in the city of Bandung is quite high.
Until the end of September, it had exceeded 85 percent for the first dose and the second dose was above 57 percent.
“I think the acceleration is tremendous, as long as there is a vaccine. Because Bandung has a lot of vaccinators and the facilities used are also many, it can be in schools, campuses, hospitals, open places, in agencies as well,” he said.
