Moderna earned 8,362 million dollars in 2022, 31% more…

Modern earned 8,362 million dollars (7,900 million euros) in 2022, 31% less, has reported the American laboratory.

The drop in profit is due to the decrease in sales of vaccines against Covid-19.

Revenues reached 19.3 billion dollars (18.2 billion euros) last year, compared to 18.5 billion dollars (17.5 billion euros) the previous year.

As for sales, these accounted for 18,400 million dollars (17,300 million euros), 4% more.

Stephane Bancel, CEO of Moderna, said: “2022 was another impressive year for Moderna, with more than $19 billion in revenue and significant clinical advancements across our portfolio. We continue to provide our targeted bivalent vaccines to Omicron worldwide.”

The manager highlighted that the company’s infectious diseases platform “continues to progress with positive data from phase 3 in the treatment against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) for older adults.”

And he’s also investing in making personalized cancer vaccines: “With R&D investments planned at $4.5 billion by 2023, I’m excited about the new medicines we think we’ll bring to patients in the coming years.”

It should be remembered that in August of last year, Moderna sued its competitor Pfizer and his German partner BioNTech for patent infringement in the development of the first vaccine for Covid-19.
