Activision and Infinity Ward have revealed the official PC system requirements for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The companies also said the game will only work with Intel and AMD processors that support AVX instructions.
PC gamers will need at least an Intel Core i3 6100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 with 8GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX960 or AMD Radeon RX 470 graphics card, and 72GB of free hard disk space to run the game.
For 4K gaming at Ultra settings with high frame rates, Infinity Ward recommends using an Intel Core i9 9900K or AMD Ryzen 9 3900X with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX3080 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT.
Infinity Ward hasn’t shared any ray tracing setups, so it’s not safe to assume that there won’t be any RT effects in the game. After all, there were no RT effects in the recent PC trailer either.
Activision will release Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on October 28th. Those who pre-order will be able to play the story campaign one week before the official release.
