Modern Warfare 2 banned from PlayStation Store in Russia

Confirmed last night, the remastered Modern Warfare 2 is facing a major problem in Russia and will not be sold on the PlayStation Store.

After many rumors about it, the reworked version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was confirmed last night with a temporary exclusivity for the Sony console. But while we thought that the absence of the multiplayer mode of the title would be what would make the most talk this week, Russia comes again to foil our forecasts.

Via an official Tweet published by the Russian account of the franchise, we learn that the Russian branch of Sony refused to publish the game on its PlayStation Store without official reasons. It’s a safe bet that this boycott comes from the presence of the famous “No Russian” mission which has been controversial for years.

The game however confirms that the game will be available next month on PC and Xbox One until further notice.
