Modern vaccine: how the vaccines that arrived will be distributed – Health

Gerson Bermont, director of Promotion and Prevention of the Ministry of Health, announced that the Invima authorized the distribution of the 3.5 million vaccines against him covid-19 donated by the United States government.

According to Bermont, it was necessary for the regulatory agency to receive the quality certificates of the pharmaceutical company, since this is a requirement to ensure that the vaccines received comply with all sanitary requirements to be applied in the population.

Consequently, 2.7 million dose for first doses and the rest will be reserved to compete second dose at the time. The first dispatches were made today to Bogotá, Antioquia and Cundinamarca, Valle and Santander. Starting tomorrow they will begin to reach 17 cities.

Bermont clarified that 2 million doses will go to the capitals and 700 thousand doses will go to non-capital cities.

Mayor Claudia López confirmed that 524,160 doses of Moderna vaccines were received in Bogotá on Tuesday night. And that from tomorrow (Wednesday) the application of the first doses will begin at the different vaccination points.

As is known, this vaccine is manufactured by the American pharmaceutical company ModernaTX, that of the mRNA type is applied in two doses spaced 28 days apart.

The Moderna vaccine it can remain stable at 20ºC below zero for a maximum period of six months, under normal refrigeration conditions for up to 30 days and at room temperature for up to 12 hours.
