The X-ray image changes in view of the veins: this most intimate human being displayed in Moderat’s music, spinning all bones and muscles from left to right and back again with rich bass and catchy melodies. The medical images are followed by “A New Error”, the song that has become an evergreen international club and has also made an impact in films, such as “Laurence Anyways” by director prodigy Xavier Dolan.
The fusion of the electro duo Modeselektor, consisting of Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, and Apparat, Sascha Ring’s solo project, is moderate. The three of these perfectionist sound freaks are on stage at the almost sold out Offenbach Stadthalle. A neocentral? In any case, the Modeselektor duo stays on the synthesizers, Ring occasionally switches from his electronic drums to the guitar and microphone and pushes his high-pitched voice across the room, on the rhythmic and melodic structures that oscillate between breakbeat, techno, dub and pessimistic.
