Braunschweig is one of 14 cities in Lower Saxony that have been selected as model municipalities for the reopening of shops and facilities in the city center. In the model project “Braunschweiger Weg”, the city wants to try out safe alternatives to lockdown together with retailers, restaurateurs and operators of leisure and cultural facilities as well as citizens in order to regain more economic and social life in Braunschweig while taking infection protection into account enable. On the one hand, visitors to the shops must present a negative corona rapid test, the result of which must not be older than twelve hours. On the other hand, the participating companies and institutions undertake to comply with particularly high protection standards. This includes strict hygiene concepts, compliance with the AHA + L regulations and digital contact tracking with the help of the Luca app. The project is scheduled to start on April 15th.
A total of 150 companies and institutions are to take part in the “Braunschweiger Weg” model project. Applications can be made in retail stores (also in shopping centers), outdoor catering (only on seats at the tables of a restaurant and up to a maximum of 9 p.m.), theaters, cultural centers, museums, exhibition rooms and similar facilities, cinemas, fitness studios and studios for electromuscular stimulation training located within the Okerum flood are. An application is up to Thursday, April 8th at the latest, possible.
