There are times when Danique Blaauwendraad squeezes herself to make sure she is not dreaming. Like that time in Turkey when she saw huge flags hanging along the highway with pictures of herself. “I think I am,” she said to the taxi driver, bewildered. Or when she was recently asked for a major campaign for clothing brand Costes. “They could have chosen 100,000 girls, but they wanted me. The photos will soon be life-size in many stores in the Netherlands. Really cool!”
