The Dubai Opera Main Theater is preparing to host a world show celebrating the arts of classical ballet, for two consecutive days, on January 27 and 28, and the show will be presented by ballerina Svetlana Zakharova, principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet, and the star of Teatro Alascala, who is starring in the first show. Of its kind in the world, as the opera presents to its audience exclusively the first public offering of the “Modans” concert, in a show that includes honoring fashion legend Mademoiselle Coco Chanel, produced by Mozarts.

The concert includes a special show by the international ballet star Zakharova, accompanied on stage by a group of the most prominent ballet stars in the world, including members of the Bolshoi Theater Company, such as Mikhail Lopukhin, Denis Savin, Artemy Belyakov, Anastasia Stashkevich, Elizaveta Kokoreva, and the star of modern dance Eldar Ginotenov.

The international performance is scheduled to open with the ballet Come Un Respiro (Like Breathing) by the Italian choreographer Mauro Bigonzetti, who designed the special scenery for Svetlana Zakharova to suit her capabilities, and the musical background for the ceremony was prepared from a set of formations accompanying the dance performance made up of pieces of music by George Frideric Handel The show is distinguished not only by the harmony of the melodies with the steps of the ballet, but extends to the choreography that is complemented by the elegant costumes created exclusively, designed by Helena de Medeiros.

The second part of the ceremony will witness a tribute to fashion legend Mademoiselle Coco Chanel through a scene titled Ballet Gabrielle Chanel, which is the embodiment of a collaboration between choreographer Yury Possokhov and composer Ilya Demutsky with Alexei Frandetti, who created the libretto and directed the work.

The CHANEL Fashion House studio, headed by Artistic Director Virginie Viard, has created more than 80 costumes for Gabrielle Chanel’s ballets.

This part of the show chronicles the journey of Chanel, who changed the standards of the fashion world in the twentieth century, and transformed from an obscure regional diva into the founder of one of the most influential fashion houses. Chanel’s designs were inspired by dance, as a movement and a metaphor for the idea of ​​freedom, and as a rhythmic and performative language to express beauty.
