Mobilize: Duo not only – alVolante.it

PREVIEW VIEWS – Among the many innovations that the Renault Group will show at the Paris Motor Show (17-23 October 2022) there will also be those of the division Mobilizeresponsible for car sharing and services related to sustainable mobility, which we were able to see and touch firsthand.

AND THE “CLIMATE”? – The first novelty is Mobilize the duo (in the photos above), or the heir to the Renault Twizy, offered in two versions: with a speed limited to 80 km / h and 45 km / h (the second can also be driven with a moped license). 50% of this quadricilo is built with recycled materials and will be available, soloist in car sharing, from the end of 2023. Like the Twizy, it has two seats “in tandem” but with the Renault car it has only 10% of the components in common (the rear suspension and a little more). It is equipped with doors that open upwards and a front airbag, but it does not have ABS and “climate” (and the door windows open only partially). However, there will be some form of forced ventilation. All have a mobile phone holder with integrated charging system: the mobile phone is used not only for booking and unlocking the car, but also for navigation and music, by connecting it to the car via Bluetooth.

ALSO FOR DELIVERIES – Being the Mobilize the duo a minicar that will pass through many hands, it has been designed thinking above all of the ease of construction (the frame is in welded steel tubes), of repair (not surprisingly the front and rear bumpers are identical) and of cleaning. The trunk is missing, but there is a trolley on each side of the driver’s seat. The passenger version will follow in 2024 to variants for deliveries call Bento (pictured above), where a 700-liter box takes the place of the rear seat.

RELAXATION IN CHARGE – Mobilize also presented its European fast charging network: it is called Mobilizes quick charge and initially foresees 200 areas that will be built by mid-2024 in France, Italy, Belgium and Spain. These are stations (pictured above) where, while the car is charging, the occupants can rest indoors, being able to take advantage of chairs, soft sofas, something to read and maybe even a coffee. Open 24 hours a day, they will be located just off the motorway exits and will be usable by anyone, thanks also to the fact that they are compatible with existing apps and services.

REALLY FUTURIBLE – Another novelty is Mobilize alone (pictured above) a single-seater electric vehicle, to be driven while standing and with a speed limited to 25 km / h. It is an alternative to electric scooters: the steering wheel is the rear wheel and it is a concept, as there is still no legislation for this type of vehicle. Mobilize Ileo is instead a hypothesis for a multifunctional charging point, easy to position and which can integrate charging panels, bicycle parking spaces (also to recharge electric ones), tables and more.
