mobilization to save 200 kids destined for the slaughterhouse

If a few goats have already found a new family, several dozen of them are still waiting.

The call was launched on social networks, and it is urgent. Passionate about animals, Aurélie has created a Facebook page named Rescue of kids from the slaughterhouse and is mobilizing to find a new home for nearly 200 kids from a goat farm located near Scaër, in the Finistère department, which are on the verge of death by the end of the week.

The situation of the animals is precarious, but above all cruel.

“The breeders give birth to them to trigger the lactation of the goats, then must get rid of them to exploit the milk and make cheese in particular”, we learn in a post published on the social network. “According to an internal source, they now plan to kill them from birth,” explains Aurélie, contacted by BFMTV.com.

So to allow the kids to continue with their lives, the young woman is looking for people with a large reception capacity, the animals are called to grow, and who would be able to “feed them” for another two months, until at their weaning. It is also advisable to adopt them in pairs, or even more, this type of goat cannot live alone.

Raise awareness without incriminating

At BFMTV.com, Aurélie underlines that at present “there are already a lot of requests, a lot of small breeders” who are interested in baby goats. On the other hand, the latter emphasizes that animals are not available for reproduction, and even less for consumption.

Beyond these adoptions, Aurélie also wishes to educate the French about the protocols put in place in farms.

“The goal is to raise awareness without incriminating. When we tell them, people are absolutely overwhelmed when they live next to the farms. This has been going on for decades,” she insists.

For the adoption of these baby goats, Aurélie can be contacted via the Facebook page created for the occasion.
