The Martinique lions clubs are mobilizing this Saturday alongside the EFS Martinique. Two awareness campaigns are being organized this Saturday in Trinidad and in Lamentin.
Volunteers from this service club will meet potential donors in order to explain to them the challenges of supplying stock reserves which are currently at their lowest.
This is one more action after those already started during natural disasters such as bad weather in Dominica or more recently during the eruption of Soufrière in Saint-Vincent.
“Our motto is” We serve “,” We serve “in English. So we support all causes”, recalls Yolène Catan Martinon, Martinique zone president of Lions Clubs.
The Lions will be responsible for inviting people to approach the blood collection truck.
It is an important collection. This is why we have decided to maintain it despite the particular health situation. The reserves are really very very low. The EFS asked us to support them so that they will not have help from other regions of France which are also experiencing difficulties in terms of supply.
The other truck will be installed on the Place de Trinité.
Those who wish to make a donation will also be able to benefit from a glycemic screening as part of the fight against diabetes. The objective is to collect the maximum pocket. In view of the situation, it is a question of allowing the EFS to have a little breath on this subject.
Collection points will be in place from 8:30 a.m. this Saturday morning (October 2, 2021).
