‘Mobility without emissions’ in Burgos to raise awareness about sustainable mobility

Burgos has joined the European Mobility Week with the motto ‘Emission-free mobility’. Between September 16 and 22 activities will be developed to promote sustainable mobility and raise awareness about different forms of personal transportation. The city thus seeks that these different methods coexist in a peaceful way and be the alternative of more and more people.

The program of this sustainable week begins on Wednesday 16 by the hand of ‘Burgos by Bike’. From the association they have organized bike rides along the bike lanes in the city. Until Sunday, these walks will take place in a 5km route that begins and ends at the MEH. There will be different schedules throughout the day and the idea is that each group is made up of 6 people, to keep a steady trickle of cyclists throughout the day. The Asociation Walking Burgos have again promoted an activity that was chosen as the second best mobility action of the European Week of 2019. On Wednesday 16, between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., it will be possible to cross the Santa María Bridge to Plaza Vega straight ahead, thus avoiding zigzag pedestrian crossings.

The Didactic activities They also join the ‘Mobility without emissions’ program. Throughout the week there will be a pedestrian exhibition in the old train station. Also in ‘La Estación’ a talk-conference on the pedestrian area on Thursday 17 at 7:00 p.m.

To close the week, coinciding with the Car Free Day, on Tuesday 22 will be organized a ‘Parking Day’ in Francisco Grandmontagne street.
