A few months after the release of the iPhone 12, Apple announced a new release, the iPhone 13. Before the official launch next September, we know more about the characteristics.
If the coronavirus pandemic allows it, the new iPhone should be presented next September and marketed in the following weeks. Unsurprisingly, the successor to the iPhone 12 should be the iPhone 13. A few months before its release, we take stock of the latest rumors about it and the information that has already been leaked.
The return of Touch ID?
The long-awaited return of the Touch ID fingerprint sensor could be confirmed with the arrival of the iPhone 13. Launched with the iPhone 5s, this feature had disappeared from smartphones since the iPhone X (except the iPhone SE , released in 2020), replaced by the Face ID facial recognition system.
A smaller notch

The notch at the top of the screen, which includes the internal camera, microphone, and facial recognition sensors, could be reduced compared to that of the previous generation iPhone. This is in any case what we can see on a photo obtained by the MacRumors site which shows glass protections for the future headed smartphone. As the French version of the Business Insider website reminds us, the size of the notch has not changed since its introduction on the iPhone X in 2017. The display area of the screen would therefore increase even more.
Same size screens
Referring also to this visual, we see three different sizes, which assumes that the iPhone 13 will have the same variations as its predecessor. So we should have the iPhone 13 mini (5.4 inches), the iPhone 13, and the iPhone 13 Pro (6.1 inches) and the iPhone 13 Pro Max (6.68 inches).

No visual of the iPhone 13 has yet been leaked. Nevertheless, it’s a safe bet that its design will be the same as that of the previous generation, which had finally been updated after several years. The iPhone 13 should retain its flat, metal edges. It could, however, be a little thicker due to a larger battery. In addition, iPhone 13 Pro Max could have pushed storage capacity up to 1TB
A launch planned for September 2021
In 2020, the release of the iPhone 12 was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The usual September keynote had been postponed until the end of October. The iPhone 12 was released on October 23, while the iPhone mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max were released three weeks later on November 13. Unless the situation turns around, the iPhone 13 should not suffer the same inconvenience and its presentation, as well as its launch will be maintained as planned at the end of September, announced several specialized sites.
