With the new year, millions of users around the world will be forced to change phones or change messaging platforms.
As of December 31, the WhatsApp messaging application will stop working on several phones, including those with Windows Mobile system.
“As of December 31, 2019, you will no longer be able to continue using WhatsApp on a device with the Windows Phone operating system, and the application may no longer be available in the Microsoft Store from July 1, 2019,” said notified the application.

According to the messaging app, WhatsApp will also not be accessible on some older Android and iPhone models.
In the case of Android, the application will be deactivated from February 1, 2020 on mobiles with operating system 2.3.7 or earlier.

As for the iPhone, the app will only work on phones with iOS 8 or earlier until February 1, 2020.
According to WhatsApp, due to the changes, it is no longer possible to create new accounts or re-verify existing accounts on mobiles that do not allow iOS9 update or those above Android 2.3.8 .
