Land Of Lincoln Legal Aid (LOLLA) is actively recruiting a Mobile Legal Clinic (MLC) Staff Attorney. This pivotal role focuses on delivering crucial legal support to individuals in rural and underserved areas across 65 counties in Illinois. The attorney will operate within the MLC, which is integrated with LARC, land of Lincoln’s centralized intake system. LARC is responsible for determining applicant eligibility, offering legal advice, and facilitating referrals to regional offices.

The Role: Mobile Legal Clinic Staff Attorney

The MLC Staff Attorney will play a vital role in extending legal assistance to those who need it most. The position requires extensive travel and a strong commitment to providing high-quality legal support in a mobile surroundings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Intake and Legal Advice: Conduct client intake interviews, assess eligibility, and provide legal advice and brief services via telephone and in person at MLC locations.
• Outreach and Community Engagement: Participate in outreach events, partner with local organizations, and promote MLC services.
• Mobile Service Delivery: Travel extensively to provide legal services in rural and underserved areas, maintaining a consistent presence in the field.
• Collaboration with MLC Team: Work closely with the MLC Manager and Paralegals to ensure effective service delivery and client support.
• Case Management: Use LOLLA’s case management system to document case details, maintain client files, and ensure compliance with all policies and regulations.
• Drive and Maintain MLC Vans: Be trained to drive the vans and assist with their maintainance.
• Administrative Duties: Perform office work as needed, including intake duties at LARC.
• Compliance: Adhere to LOLLA policies, professional standards, and funder requirements.
• Other Duties: As required or assigned.
