That MS has an enormous impact on (young) lives and has many different faces, the MS Fund is currently making clear in the new campaign ‘Face it. MS is nerve-wracking.” The campaign features five people with MS: Carla, Winston, Carlien, Kevin and Vera. They differ in age and are each in a different stage of life, but they have one thing in common: all five have MS. On www.nationaalmsfonds.nl/faceit they show in a penetrating way what impact the disease has on their lives and what various complaints and courses there are.
nerve-wracking
In the Netherlands, 25,000 people experience the consequences of the chronic and progressive disease MS every day. This campaign not only literally puts a face on MS, but also calls for the seriousness of the disease to be brought to bear. A literal connection is made with the nervous system, but also a link with the emotional side of the disease and what this does to patients.
Research urgently needed
There is no solution for MS yet. Researchers do not know how MS develops or how the disease can be cured. More research is therefore urgently needed. The National MS Fund spends the proceeds from the MS Collecteweek on scientific research into better treatments and a better quality of life for people with MS.
