Mobile Blood Donation Unit Arrives in La Aldea de San Nicolás to Save Lives

From the corporation they encourage the villagers to donate, since “it is an act that helps to save lives”

The Canarian Institute of Hemodonation and Hemotherapy (ICHH), under the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, will locate a mobile unit to donate blood this week in La Aldea de San Nicolás. Specifically, it will be placed in the car parks next to the Los Cascajos Sports Center on Wednesday, August 9, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., on Thursday, August 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at 8:15 p.m., and on Friday, August 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

In this sense, from the ICHH they urge the population to donate blood with the aim of maintaining the reserves of blood products of all blood groups, even more so in this summer period where blood reserves drop.

The Canary Institute of Hemodonation and Hemotherapy reminds the elderly population of the importance of donating blood regularly, every three or four months, to balance the stock of the Canary Transfusion Center and thus guarantee hospital activity. At this time, donations are needed from all groups, especially A- and B+.

In this regard, the City Council is sure that the villagers will once again respond to this appeal and donate, since they are aware that “donating is an altruistic act that helps save lives.”
