24 hour strike by fixed orbit media workers
With 24 hours strike the employees of Fixed Track Media (Metro, Electric, Tram) participate in its mobilizations Labor Day.
Thus, the Metro Line 1 – Lines 2&3) and the Tram will be stopped today.
In a statement, the Workers’ Union STOP stresses: “Many years (137) may have passed since that bloody May Day in Chicago, but the struggles for human labor rights (which have been brutally damaged in recent years), are not only timely but necessary! Our Unions pay tribute to this holy day and join their voice with all the collectives, against the impoverishment and impoverishment that have led the people to all the anti-labor provisions of the neoliberal Government that have been implemented so far”.

An announcement for Labor Day was also issued by the Athens Metro Operation Employees Union (SELMA). “We are striking and demonstrating demanding the abolition of all anti-labor provisions that lead to the strangulation of collective and individual labor rights, a minimum wage corresponding to the needs of workers, free trade union activity without employer interference. Abolition of the General Register of Trade Union Organizations for state control over the establishment and operation of unions and the exercise of the collective rights of workers, public and universal Health System. United we fight for our just demands, against our impoverishment and impoverishment. Workers’ rights and achievements are not negotiable” it is pointed out in the announcement of SELMA.
Work stop on buses and trolleybuses
According to announcements from both the OASA Workers’ Union and the ILPAP Workers’ Union, on Monday, May 1, buses and trolleys will be stopped from the start of the shift until 9 am and from 9 pm until the end of the shift.
Therefore buses and trolleybuses on Monday 1 May 2023 will run from 09:00 to 21:00.
At the same time, city buses on the lines taken over by KTEL are expected to run normally.
