Done, announced. Thirty-two-year-old Muradov has been preparing for the fight in the cage for about the last month and a half. During his next appearance (3-2) in the world’s most famous organization, he will face recent UFC newcomer Russian Abusupian Magomedov, whose record of 25 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw commands a lot of respect. In addition, the already mentioned premiere among the elite was no ordinary one, the Dagestani knocked out his opponent after only 19 seconds, and now he is looking for another victim.
For Muradov, on the other hand, it will be already the sixth duel in the UFC, where he first peeked in 2019 and subsequently scored three wins in a row. However, the Uzbek wrestler did not do well in the last duels. First came a surprising defeat against Gerald Meerschaert, who succeeded in the second round by choke, in the last contest for a change, Muradov was not enough for the hot Brazilian Caio Borralho on points.
“It doesn’t always turn out the way we want. But we should be thankful for what we have. It wasn’t my night. I was ready, I felt good, but something went wrong in the match. This is sport, I sincerely congratulate the opponent,” Muradov said disappointedly after the last duel, in which he played the role of a mild outsider.
The middleweight fight against Magomedov will take place on March 11 at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas, where other interesting fights will be seen. Among them, for example, there will be a clash between the two and three of the bantam division, Petr Yan and Merab Dvališvili, or the fight between heavyweights Alexander Volkov and Alexander Romanov.
And as Muradov himself admitted before leaving for the last fight, he has signed a contract with the UFC for three fights. One is past, two to go. A third defeat in a row would certainly not be pleasant news and would push the Uzbek fighter closer to the abyss.
