The Irishman, who hasn’t fought since January and his victory over Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds, had announced his retirement for the third time in June. Without the MMA microcosm nor the fans taking this announcement seriously.
A few days later we learned of his police custody in Corsica, following a complaint for attempted sexual assault and sexual exhibition. Released two days later, without prosecution, he had “vigorously” denied “any accusation of bad behavior”.

In September, there were reports of negotiations between him and the Filipino star Manny Pacquiao, world boxing champion in eight weight categories, for a fight possibly in December or January 2021 in the Middle East. No formalization followed and if it has to take place, it will be later in 2021, after McGregor’s umpteenth return to UFC.
