It would be the end of the Valentin Castellanos era at New York City FC.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the Argentine striker will join fellow Group City club Girona who have recently been promoted to La Liga.
Catsellanos, 23, has lined up with New York since 2018. In five seasons with NYCFC, he played 108 games, scoring 50 goals. He has scored 13 goals in 2022, including the winner in the 1-0 win over the Red Bulls on Sunday.
A key part of New York’s MLS title win last season, Castellanos was named the best team of 2021 thanks to his 19 goals.
