Recently, the format of streaming platforms has proven to attract the attention of consumers. Therefore, little by little, more and more diversity of content has been integrated into these platforms. In this context, Major League Soccer (MLS) signed an agreement with Apple TV to give them their broadcast rights for 10 years.

The entry into force of the agreement will be from 2023 to 2032. During this period, platform users will be able to follow all MLS, Leagues Cup and MLS NEXT Pro matches on Apple’s streaming platform.
“Apple is the perfect partner to further accelerate the growth of MLS and deepen the connection between our clubs and their fans,” said Don Garber, MLS Commissioner.
They also reported that commentary on match broadcasts will be in English, Spanish and French for Canadian club matches. In addition, Apple TV and MLS will offer exclusive in-app content such as original shows, inside-team footage and closer to the players, as well as weekly match analysis.
Paramount+ will broadcast the Libertadores and the Sudamericana
For its part, the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) announced its agreement with Paramount+. This streaming platform will be in charge of broadcasting the Copa Libertadores and Sudamericana in Latin America for three years starting in 2023.
“These tournaments will extend the company’s strong sports offer throughout the region. Paramount+ Brasil will become the home of Conmebol Libertadores and Conmebol Sudamericana”, stated Eduardo Lebrija, commercial head of Paramount+.

For the Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America, the tournaments will also be broadcast through Pluto TV, Telefe and Chilevisión.
Paramount+ has been adding exclusive broadcast deals from various leagues. In Mexico, the platform already has exclusive broadcast rights for the English Premier League.
“This agreement solidifies Paramount’s sports strategy throughout the region, which began with the agreements to exclusively broadcast the Premier League in Mexico,” added Lebrija.
Before the intervention of Paramount+, the Copa Libertadores had been broadcast by Marca Claro through its television channels and its YouTube channel. For its part, the Premier League was exclusive to Sky Sports in Mexico and ESPN for the other Latin American countries.
