From Thursday to Sunday there was a four-game series between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. Which The New York team ended up winning three of the four matches between this classic rivalry.
Something that could not be missing in this series was the controversy. It started on Saturday in the third game when Gerrit Cole hit Rafel Devers with a pitch in the first inning and gave him a walk in the fourth inning.
What seemed like a normal part of the game exploded in the sixth inning when Brayan Bello threw a pitch that almost hit the leg of batter Aaron Judge. And it was allegedly done on purpose due to an order from Red Sox manager Alex Cora.
And it is that according to the New York Post Manager Cora thought Cole had hit Devers on purpose in the first inning. So he would have responded with this attempted hit to JudgeThat is why the MLB has launched an investigation into the Puerto Rican manager.

The theory that Cora intentionally ordered Judge to be hit makes even more sense after Sunday’s comments, in which the manager said he was talking about the hit-by-pitch and walk to Rafael Devers.
“I felt like in the first at-bat, he hit him on purpose”“He doesn’t want to face him (Devers), that’s the bottom line. He told us with the intentional walk that in the first at-bat he hit him. We’ll leave it at that. After that, he had the bases loaded and he had to face him. We took offense because it was clear and forceful that he didn’t want to face him. It was intentional, I’m not going to take it back. It was intentional,” the manager explained.
And although Cora has a good relationship with Yankees manager Aaron Boone, the Red Sox manager remains firm in his position and in the way he saw Gerrit Cole’s hit to Rafael Devers.
“We talked, and there are two ways to look at it, right? His dugout and our dugout. And, as I said, ‘put yourself in our shoes and you’ll understand why we feel that way.’ We’ll leave it there.”Cora closed.
Now the investigation opened by Major League Baseball will determine if Cora actually sent Bello to hit Aaron Judge with the ball. If it is determined that it was done intentionally, the Boston manager could face disciplinary measures.
