The Kansas City Royals signed veteran reliever Aroldis Chapman on Thursday. The pact is for one season and worth $3.75 million.
The 34-year-old pitcher was with the Yankees the past six seasons, but struggled in 2022. He finished the season with a 4.46 ERA and a 4-4 record. He recorded nine rescues.
Chapman wasn’t on the Yankees’ playoff roster after missing practice with the team.
The reliever helped the Chicago Cubs win the World Series in 2016.
