MKD’s Employee Claims Guarantee Fund: Significant Increase in Payouts and Recoveries in 2023

In nine months, MKD has paid out funds from the employee claims guarantee fund to satisfy the claims of 601 employees of 49 insolvent companies. The average amount allocated to cover the claims of one employee this year was 1,842 euros.

In the nine months of last year, MKD paid out 495,363 euros from the employee claims guarantee fund to satisfy the claims of 352 employees of 40 insolvent companies. The average amount allocated to cover the claims of one employee in the nine months of last year was 1,407 euros.

In total, in the nine months of 2023, 813 decisions were made on the satisfaction of employee claims, including the refusal to allocate funds for the satisfaction of employee claims, on corrections to the decision and on the termination of the administrative case.

In the nine months of this year, MKD has recovered 553,792 euros in the employee claims guarantee fund. In 2022, in the same period, MKD recovered 281,256 euros in the guarantee fund of employees’ claims.

From the funds of the employee claims guarantee fund, the MKD satisfies employee claims related to wages, compensation for annual paid leave, compensation for other types of paid absence, severance pay due to the termination of employment legal relations, as well as compensation for damage due to an accident at work or occupational disease.
