Miyazaki: “We didn’t try to make Armored Core VI a soulsborne game”

But the focus is on intense boss battles.

During The Game Awards we learned that From Software will Return to its powerful past and let go Armor Core VI: Rise of the Rubicon. Given the massive success of the Souls games, however, many have feared/assumed this Armored core VI will have a soulsborne setup, but in a scifi setting.

This is the game director, Masaru Yamamura speaking ign that the boss battles are the big highlight of the game and that they revolve around reading the enemy’s maneuvers and acting accordingly, which he describes as “typical From Software”. Both the enemy and your mech will be very aggressive in their attacks and battles should be intense and dynamic.

However, a big part of the series has been fiddling with your mechs in the hangar, and Yamamura assures you can still experiment to find the right parts to defeat stronger enemies. Furthermore, Hidetaka Miyazaki himself claims that he did not make a conscious effort to try and do it Armored core more like a soulsborne game.
