The positive evaluation of President Yoon Seok-yeol, who has entered his third year in office, was found to be 37%.
In a poll conducted by Gallup Korea, a public opinion polling company, on 1,017 men and women over the age of 18 nationwide from the 28th to 29th of last year at the request of JoongAng Ilbo, 37% had a positive evaluation of President Yoon’s administration and 60% had a negative evaluation.

The Kyunghyang Shinmun commissioned public opinion polling agency Embrain Public to ask 1,001 adults aged 18 or older across the country from December 29th to 30th whether President Yoon was carrying out his duties well, and 29% responded positively. When asked, ‘What do you think about the President’s veto of the Special Prosecutor Act on First Lady Kim Kun-hee?’, 23% responded that it was appropriate, and 62% responded that it was inappropriate. The response ‘I don’t know’ was 15%.
By generation, with the exception of those in their 70s or older, inappropriate opinions were more prevalent than appropriate opinions within the margin of error in all generations.
The appropriate vs. inappropriate opinion among people in their 20s was 10% versus 64%, among those in their 30s it was 16% versus 67%, and among those in their 40s it was 14% versus 78%. The rate of inappropriate opinions showed a downward trend again starting in the 50s. For those in their 50s, the ratio of appropriate vs. inappropriate was 22% vs. 69%, and for those in their 60s, it was 39% vs. 50%.
By region, the opinion of inappropriateness exceeded 50% in all regions except Daegu and Gyeongbuk. In Seoul, appropriate versus inappropriate was 21% versus 64%, and in Gyeonggi and Incheon, it was 17% versus 67%. In Daegu and Gyeongbuk, the inappropriate opinion (48%) prevailed outside the margin of error over the appropriate opinion (36%).
