Conor McGregor is currently coaching fighters on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 31 show, opposite rival Michael Chandler. While the two men are expected to face off in the octagon at the end of the show, McGregor also seems interested in a return to boxing.
The “Notorious” remains the only fighter to earn a waiver from UFC President Dana White for a one-off boxing bout against Floyd Mayweather in 2017, which he ended up losing by a tenth-round TKO. McGregor is now eyeing a return to the squared circle against none other than his former opponent Jose Aldo. Watch a video of Conor battling one of his TUF students here.
Conor McGregor wants to beat him a second time
McGregor’s comments came after Jose Aldo’s boxing bout against fellow UFC veteran Jeremy Stephens on the Gamebred Boxing 4 card this Saturday, April 1. While the first rounds were marked by Aldo’s jabs, “Lil ‘Heathen” began to impose itself from the 4ᵉ round. The fight was declared a controversial majority draw after six closely contested rounds, with ‘Junior’ winning on one of the scorecards. Before this boxing fight, Jose Aldo allowed himself to violently attack Françis Ngannou in a podcast.
After surely watching this fight, the Irishman decided to take the lead and offer a boxing match to the Brazilian legend.
