President Gianni Guagnano looked back on the past year in his annual report. Among other things, Mitte Sargans has made it its mission to secure the educational location and supports the Sarganserland education campus and Sportvision Ost projects. Mitte sees this as a major locational advantage for Sarganserland and the opportunity to realize a flagship project in our region. At the municipal level, Mitte Sargans has campaigned for more proportionate monument protection with the IG Protection Ordinance. By joining forces, the concerns of the IG were re-examined by the Sargans municipal council, and the original project was thus suspended until further notice.
Rheinau wind farm makes sense
Thomas Good, President of the School Board of Mels, and Markus Zai, Managing Director of EW Mels, were welcomed as guests. At the Annual General Meeting, they presented the current status of the planned Rheinau wind farm. The facts and figures clearly show that this project makes sense and not only ensures security of supply for the three communities of Mels, Vilters-Wangs and Sargans throughout the year, but will also generate added value in the region. The suitability of the Rheinau location for wind turbines has already been confirmed by many years of measurements and data collection. The center of Sargans approves of the location and supports the project.
