Mitsubishi has just released a presentation of its financial statements and business plan. At the presentation, Mitsubishi leaked the timeline for the launch of several new cars that were being prepared. One of them is the Mitsubishi Xpander Hybrid.
Mitsubishi targets an increase in sales volume in the 2023 fiscal year (April 2023-March 2024). For fiscal year 2022, Mitsubishi’s retail sales will reach 834 thousand units worldwide. In the 2023 financial year, Mitsubishi is targeting sales of 917 thousand units.
One strategy is to launch a new car. Mitsubishi will also electrify its cars. The Mitsubishi Xpander will also be ‘electrocuted’ into a hybrid car.
In his presentation, Mitsubishi described the new car launch schedule. It describes the launch of Xpander Hybrid around 2024.
Mitsubishi does say that the Xpander Hybrid will be introduced in the 2023 fiscal year. For Mitsubishi’s 2023 fiscal year period, it is from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024. So, maybe it’s only the beginning of next year’s Xpander Hybrid.
Mitsubishi also displays the Xpander Hybrid silhouette which is covered in a sheath. From that silhouette, you can see at a glance the Xpander Hybrid’s main lights which are the same as the Xpander currently being sold.
Until now, there have been no leaks regarding the design, features and specifications of the Xpander Hybrid. However, the vehicle is most likely not much different from the regular version that is marketed now.
In addition to the Xpander Hybrid, for the 2023 fiscal year Mitsubishi is preparing to launch mass production of the XFC Concept, Mitsubishi Colt, Mitsubishi ASX, Mitsubishi Triton and Mitsubishi Delica Mini.
Apart from Xpander, Mitsubishi is also preparing two other variants in the hybrid segment. Although the model has not been disclosed, both are confirmed to be from the SUV and MPV classes.
