Jakarta

Mitsubishi has also participated in Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2023. Even though the XFC concept car was not brought along, this Japanese manufacturer has confirmed that it will introduce a mass production version of the XFC this year.

As is known, Indonesia is the second country where the car appeared after Vietnam at the end of last year. President Director of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI), Naoya Nakamura, confirmed that mass production of XFC will be introduced in 2023.

“I will immediately confirm the production model for this year,” said Nakamura during a press conference at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week at JCC Senayan, Central Jakarta, Friday (10/3/2023).

“I believe this XFC concept will be our new “Game Changer” in Indonesia. We will provide the latest updates for the development of this model on a regular basis, so please wait,” he added.

MMKSI General Manager of Marketing Communication and Public Relations, Intan Vidiasari reiterated that this year was only limited to the introduction of mass production.

“Model production will be introduced soon this year. Production model means mass production. This (XFC) is the concept,” said Intan.

XFC is a candidate for Mitsubishi’s new car to fill the 5-passenger SUV segment with smaller dimensions. It has not been revealed how the specifications and details of the engine that will be released, because the XFC is still a concept car. XFC will be equipped with 4 driving modes, namely normal, wet, gravel and mud.

Wet Mode, which was first introduced on Mitsubishi vehicles, was designed with use in ASEAN countries in mind, such as enabling safe driving even on waterlogged roads.

At the front, the Dynamic Shield concept expresses Mitsubishi’s signature performance and protection. The “L” shaped headlights at the top line up with the bonnet make it look modern. The headlights combine with the Daytime Running Light (DRL) which forms an iconic “T” shape that reinforces the broad impression.

The sides of the body consist of richly sculpted and muscular surfaces, with front and rear fender flares and character lines that express the power and dynamism of an SUV. Like the front, the rear also features tail lights in a “T” shape to create a wide and stable impression.

The XFC Concept is currently being paraded to various big cities in Indonesia. The six cities currently include Pekanbaru, Medan, Palembang, Bandung, Semarang and Surabaya.
