Mitsubishi releases new cars tomorrow, competing for Honda HR-V and Hyundai Creta?

Mitsubishi releases a teaser of a new car that will make its world debut in Vietnam on Wednesday (10/19/2022). The launch of the car takes place two weeks before the start of the Vietnam Motor Show 2022.

The teaser image shared by Mitsubishi Vietnam doesn’t reveal much, there is only a Mitsubishi badge with three diamonds mounted in the middle of the grille.

Quoted by Paultan, the new car will find itself in the position of a budget SUV. Mitsubishi’s new car is expected to be an opponent for Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks and Honda HR-V.

On the AutoPro page, Vietnam was chosen to be the global debut of the new SUV candidate due to Xpander’s success there. Four years after its launch, the seven-seater minivan has become popular with over 65,000 units sold.

The temporary hypothesis is that the new car is the New ASX, a car renamed the Renault Captur. In fact, the 5-seater SUV has been on sale since 2010, but recently the New ASX has only been marketed in Europe.

Not much information can be obtained. However, the New ASX in the European market is sold with various types of engines, including plug-in hybrid (PHEV) with 1.6-liter petrol engine, hybrid (HEV) consisting of a 1.6-liter petrol engine. with two electric motors, mild hybrid that combines a 1.3 liter direct injection turbo and finally a 1.0 liter turbo gasoline engine and a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Following its world debut on October 19, the “Small SUV Concept” model will continue to be exhibited at the Vietnam Motor Show 2022 which runs from October 26 to October 30, 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
