Mitsubishi pays € 25 million fine in Germany over diesel diesel scandal

Japanese automotive company Mitsubishi Motors Corp. confirmed on Monday that it had paid a fine of 25 million euros this year imposed on it by the German prosecutor’s office in connection with the so-called diesel scandal scandal.

Last year, the German authorities searched ten sites in connection with the alleged falsification of harmful emissions from Mitsubishi diesel cars. At the same time, the prosecutor’s office had launched an investigation into possible fraud.

Mitsubishi said on Monday that the Frankfurt prosecutor’s office fined the carmaker € 25 million at the end of March, which was paid before the end of March.

The investigation focused on Mitsubishi cars equipped with 1.6 and 2.2 liter diesel engines
