Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who is now moving at a pre-election pace, is starting tours all over the country from today. The Prime Minister will visit today Mytilene and at the event for the handover of the Kalloni – Sigri road axis. At noon, he will go to Kalloni, where he will visit the Town Hall of Western Lesbos and have a meeting with citizens, and then he will go to the Museum of Natural History of the Lesvos Petrified Forest, in Sigri.
Tours everywhere
The pre-election planning of Mr. Mitsotakis foresees tours in as many regions of the country as possible. The Prime Minister will take on his back the pre-election campaign of the ND with a double objective. To present the dilemma of “stability or uncertainty” with which he attempts to give the character of national elections to the battle for the European Parliament. “The stronger the ND comes out of the polls on June 9, the more stable the country will be,” he is expected to emphasize, adding that a good result will allow them to continue the big changes they have launched and which the country needs.
In Lesbos, the Prime Minister is expected to address the government’s policies on migratory but also to the benefits for the Aegean islands of granting favorable visa status to Turkish citizens. As pointed out yesterday from Brussels, the new visa granting regime is an important support for the local economy and at the same time it is a proof of the improvement of Greek-Turkish relations for the benefit of both peoples.
In his tours, the Prime Minister will be accompanied by ministers and officials of the National Democratic Party, while in addition to the islands, emphasis will be given to Northern Greece and the regions where the ruling party is recording losses.
Smiles at Maximos
In M. Maximou, the latest public opinion polls were greeted with smiles, which show that the leakage of voters to the right has been stopped, a fact that has resulted in the rise of ND percentages. It is characteristic that in yesterday’s survey by Metron Analysis for Mega, the ND has raised its percentages by one unit (32.3%), while at the same time the percentages of Velopoulos are decreasing.
As government officials point out, the trend of deterioration of the ruling party “braked”, while the ND again began to “sting” from its right, as well as from the pool of undecideds.
