In 2018, Mithun Manuel Thomas Jayasuriya was announced as the hero of the movie Turbo Peter. The screenplay of Turbo is also done by Mithun Manuel himself. The poster of Turbo Peter was released but there was no information about the film until then.
But Mithun is saying that Turbo is Peter and not Turbo. Mithun said that only Turbo was taken to get a punch to the name and both are not one film. In an interview to Club FM, Mithun said that Turbo was given a different name.
‘Turbo Peter is not Turbo. It had a different name. When I was asked to re-punch the name, I said I had an old story called Turbo Peter. Only the turbo was taken from it. Turbo was chosen because it is a power packed name for an action comedy. Everyone is asking if it is turbo peat, no. Turbo only took the turbo on Peter. I will tell you the exact name of Turbo after it comes out,’ said Mithun.
Mithun also talked about Turbo’s poster in the interview. ‘The hand on the poster is showing. It’s punchy and power packed. The film is an action comedy. It is a joker. Pulli liked the character and the way the story went. Immediately after hearing the story, Pulli gave the date. Then Vaisakhetan and Mammooka have worked together. They already have an affinity. Perhaps it came to this suddenly because we felt that we had told a better story,’ Mithun added.
Turbo is a film produced by Mammootty’s company after Kannur Squad. Vaishakh and Mammootty will reunite after Maduraaja.
