Miteb Al-Harbi, the left-back of the Al-Shabab first football team, rejected an offer to extend his association with the Al-Asmi club, about a year and a half before the end of the contract he signed with him in May 2021, according to what close sources revealed to Al-Riyadiya.
The youth administration offered to extend the contract for two additional seasons, with a large penalty clause if the player wanted to disengage, which Al-Harbi rejected. The same sources indicated that the 23-year-old international defender wants a larger contract and additional benefits in light of major clubs competing in the recent period for his services, including Al-Hilal and Al-Nasr, in addition to Al-Ahly.
The Youth Administration extended the contract of the player, who is currently continuing his rehabilitation from a joint ligament injury, in 2021 for a period of five seasons until 2026.
In the same regard, the Youth Administration is moving to appoint Abdullah Al-Osta to the position of Executive Director of the first football team after his name was officially dropped from the current Board of Directors, in which he holds the position of Vice President. Al-Asta will succeed Talal Al-Sheikh after the club announced his departure last week.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Sports approved, last September 25, the club’s board of directors headed by Mohammed Al-Munajem until 2027, following his victory over Abdulaziz Al-Malik in the elections.
