Grat’s words were offensive to Zidane and many fans criticized him on social media, declaring him a legend.
Mbappe tweeted that France means Zidane and he shouldn’t insult a legend like him. The French Football Federation has extended the tenure of Zidane’s current manager and teammate Didier Deschamps until 2026, ignoring Zidane, who has made public his desire to become France manager.
