When the woman arrived at the testing site, she did not need to show her confirmation of appointment for the test. It could happen that she ended up in the wrong hall.
It also went wrong there. The confirmation letter must usually be presented at the registration desk for vaccination. However, the woman did not have him with her. Because the computer system was slow at the time, the desk clerk sent the woman on to save time. After the vaccination, everything would be processed.
The woman is doing well
The error was found immediately after the injection. The GGD quickly called in a doctor. He spoke with the woman, explained what happened and carried out a health check. According to the service, the woman is doing well. She will soon receive the second vaccine.
The GGD says it is shocked by the incident. “If the registration had been done more carefully, the vaccination could not have taken place. It shows how important it is that all steps must be taken carefully. We have taken steps to prevent this in the future.”
Two weeks ago, the major testing of all residents started in Lansingerland. More than 60,000 people have been invited to participate, from the very young to the very old. The aim of the research is to find out more about the spread of the coronavirus, especially the British variant.
