Missing NYC Teen Reportedly Escaped Home Where She Was Held for Months – NBC New York

NYPD detectives are investigating sex trafficking claims made by a teenage girl who entered the 121st Precinct barracks in Staten Island’s Graniteville on Thursday night after being reported missing from her home in Queens several months ago, according to a source. with knowledge of the research cited by Silive.com.

The NYPD’s Human Trafficking Unit, Special Victims Unit and Missing Persons Unit are among the agencies investigating the case.

The young woman entered the police station around 11 pm and told officers that she had been held against her will and was a victim of sex trafficking, according to the report.

Police immediately began scouring the area looking for people who might have been involved.

The teen was taken to an area hospital.

According to PIX11, the minor from Forest Hills was 14 years old when she disappeared on October 13. Her father drove all five boroughs looking for her, even traveling to New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

“First they held her in Brooklyn… and then they passed her on to someone else on Staten Island,” the teen’s mother told PIX11 of the girl’s claims. “She ran from the house she was in on Staten Island to the police station,” she added.

An NYPD spokeswoman could not immediately provide information.
