Missing Man Found in Yatsugatake Akadake Mountain Range | NHK Nagano News

A 48-year-old man from Aichi Prefecture, who slipped and disappeared on the 2nd of this month in Akadake in the Yatsugatake Mountains, was found dead on the 6th.

On the 2nd of this month, Mr. Takushi Konno (48) of Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, who was climbing near the top of Mount Akadake in the Yatsugatake Mountains, reported to the police that he fell on a rocky place and injured his leg and could not move.
As a result of the search, a police helicopter found Mr. Konno lying on a slope about 300 meters below the mountain path after 10:00 on the 6th, but he was confirmed dead at the scene.
Since Mr. Konno has been climbing alone since the 1st of this month, the police are investigating the detailed situation at that time, assuming that he fell for some reason.
Between the 29th of last month and the 3rd of this month, 11 people went missing in the mountains of the prefecture, the highest number during the New Year and New Year holidays in the past 10 years, according to the police.
The risk of accidents increases during the winter season when climbing conditions deteriorate due to snow and other factors, so the police ask you to pay close attention to the latest weather information and not climb unreasonably.
