Missing man (56) found injured in Delft, kicked out of car by kidnappers Inland

videoThe 56-year-old man from Hoofddorp, who was kidnapped last Thursday evening in Cruquius in North Holland, was found injured last night in a residential area in Delft. He was kicked out of a car there by his captors, still others than the six arrested last week. The victim was taken to hospital and then reunited with his family.

For his life has been feared for the past few days. “Finding the victim was a major priority within the police and the Public Prosecution Service (OM). More than a hundred colleagues have been busy day and night,” the police said in a statement.

Last night the police diving team was still investigating in and around the water of the Nieuwe Gouwe in Gouda. It is not clear whether this has yielded any results. Hours later, the victim was found in Delft near the A13 highway.

‘Help’, ‘help’

“I heard someone shout ‘help, help’ and then called the emergency number,” says a resident who prefers to remain anonymous. A man who lives down the street shows images from his security camera from last night on his phone.

At 00.28 a car drives from the Bieslandsepad, around the corner at the Delftse Hout recreation area, through the street. The vehicle stands still for about twenty seconds and then drives away. Three minutes later, another vehicle drives hard in the opposite direction down the short and cramped street. “Quite strange, isn’t it?” says the owner of the camera. According to the police, the Hoofddorper was found injured in the Van Assendelftstraat around 00.45 hours. He was then transported to hospital.

Injuries

Police have not said anything about the severity of his injuries. They are still looking for one or more kidnappers who put the man out of the car last night in the small street in Delft.

On Thursday evening, six men were arrested in Gouda because of the kidnapping. It concerns three Rotterdammers aged 22, 22 and 30, a 31-year-old man from Zwijndrecht, a 33-year-old man from Dordrecht and a 30-year-old man with no known home address. Their pre-trial detention was extended by two weeks on Monday. A red Mercedes van with roof rack that was used in the kidnapping was found in Gouda on Sunday.

Mistaken

The victim was kidnapped on Thursday evening in Cruquius, about fifty kilometers from Delft. The Public Prosecution Service offered 15,000 euros for the tip that would lead to the solution of the case. The police previously said they were seriously considering that the perpetrators had made a mistake and that another man was the target of the kidnappers.

“The investigation of the Large-Scale Investigation Team has so far shown that there is no indication that the kidnapped man is part of the criminal circuit. It is therefore not clear at this time what the motive is for the kidnapping,” the police said on Sunday.

movie set

The normally so pleasant Vogelbuurt in Gouda has had the appearance of a film set in recent days. Residents saw heavily armed officers, sniffer dogs and a helicopter taking over the streets. “We were tinkering and suddenly a whole team arrived,” an eyewitness told this site.

“Hands up, drop everything,” we heard. It was just like in the movie. I saw more people come out. It started to rain, then we were allowed to sit on a chair in the doorway. The police knocked out all the doors. It was really chaotic.”

The police are asking people who have images of Thursday evening from Cruquius and Gouda and last night in Delft to share them with them. The kidnapping investigation is still ongoing. “The massive media attention and the help and thinking from society have helped the investigation,” the police said. “The police and the Public Prosecution Service would like to thank everyone for that.”

In connection with the investigation into other suspects, the police do not want to release any more information at this time.
