A major rescue operation was launched on Thursday evening after a lobster fisherman in Langesund.
The man in his sixties was reported missing by family members who were unable to contact him.
At 11.30 pm the police reported that a dead man and a boat had been found in the area. The man’s relatives have been notified.
– He must have gone to the Langesund marina, left his car and went out to sea on his boat Thursday morning at 10-11am, Southeast Police District Operations Manager Erik Ullhaug told NRK Olsen, during the rescue operation was underway.
The “Stormbull” and “Uni Kragerø” lifeboats took part in the search outside Langesund.

The main rescue center coordinated the rescue operation, which took place in the archipelago outside Langesund.
– We have two rescue boats participating in the search, a pilot, a rescue helicopter and the coast guard with several boats, rescue manager Per Hognaland told NRK.
