While the search has been suspended in the Hautes-Pyrénées, we still have no news of Mattéo, a 20-year-old young man from Niort who has been missing since August 1 when he went hiking. He had called his parents to tell them that because of the fog, he was turning back and asked them to pick him up from the start of the hiking trail where they had dropped him off in the morning, near the Rioumajou valley.
Worried not to see him arrive, his parents had launched the alert and significant search resources had then been deployed, with the high mountain gendarmerie platoon and a helicopter, but in vain.
More than a week later, the research system was lightened and the young man’s parents returned home to Deux-Sèvres.
Mattéo Michel is known in Niort sports circles, he is indeed a member of the supporters club “Niort 1925”. Its president, Jean-Pierre Bureta, whom we contacted, confided his concern to us: “we don’t dare disturb the family, we sent them a message of support” che says. “Matteo is very invested in the club, he has lots of ideas, he is very active.”

LDuring the Chamois’ next match, Friday evening August 11, against Avranches, the stadium announcer will say a few words for him and his parents. “We saw him not long ago, during the friendly match at Villiers-en-Plaine, he wanted to buy a club scarf.”
