A boy was found this week in Oldenburg, Germany, who had been missing for eight days. The child turned out to have crawled into a sewer pipe and was unable to get out.
The boy was eventually noticed by a passerby who heard sounds coming from the sewer.
According to the police, no crime has been committed. The boy was removed from the sewer by firefighters and taken to hospital. He was hypothermic, but otherwise uninjured.
The boy turned out to have been only 300 meters away from his house all that time. His father says that “it is going well under the circumstances”.
Oldenburg is located in the north of Germany, about 100 kilometers from the border at Groningen.
