Missing 41-year-old found dead in Lillehammer – NRK Innlandet – Local news, TV and radio

– The police are taking further investigative steps to clarify whether it is an accident or a possible criminal act that is behind the death, says police inspector Liv Hilde Nytrøen.

The relatives have been informed.

41-year-old Øyvind Nyheim has been missing from his apartment in Lillehammer since 21 August. He was found in the Mesna River by passers-by on Tuesday night.

The preliminary autopsy report shows that he died of drowning.

No suspects

The police are now working to find out what happened.

Prosecutor Liv Hilde Nytrøen said earlier today that there are no suspects in the case.

– It’s early in the investigation.

The police launched a technical and tactical investigation, among other things to find out if the person could be the missing man.
